What Our Exhibitors Had To Say At KZN Industrial 2023
“We focused on our Horizon bridge CMM at KITE this year, both in terms of securing sub-distributors for the KZN region, and furthermore in selling the technology to interested parties. Our stand was buzzing with lots of people showing a keen interest in the Horizon.”
Ludrick Barnard Caldeaz Manufacturing Technologies
“KITE provided us with the perfect opportunity to introduce the Innomotics brand to the KZN market — where manufacturing plays such a large role in the economy. We had a great reception to this new brand, and our presence at KITE allowed us to re-establish our relationship with previously Siemens-centred clients. We saw a wide range of visitors, from academia to technical and beyond, and we are thrilled that we gained a solid lead for a modernisation project.”
Tim WalwynInnomotics (a division of Siemens)
“We take a dynamic approach to visitor interactions, and the KZN visitors were very receptive. There was great interest in all the solutions we showcased — including our PTT comms products, our T&A clocking solutions, workflow management software, and incident reports software. All the visitors said that they can now see that technology is the way to go.”
Pierre Slabbert Instacom
“On day one we’d already had some very good leads. This was a great branding exercise, and KITE allowed us to introduce our PPE range to our current welding clients in KZN.”
Riaan Maree Pinnacle Welding and Safety
“We were pleased to be back at KITE post-COVID. We took this opportunity to launch our XPlanar solution (which won the award). This system comprises permanent magnet tiles used to convey product and ‘ingredients’ in a levitated manner, thereby replacing conventional conveying systems for multi-directional travel. The system is designed in such a way that the smart tiles will move around a tile that is no longer moving, thereby reducing downtime and enhancing productivity. The award was yet another value-add of exhibiting at the expo; the other one being the high-quality leads we garnered.”
Gareth TaylorBeckhoff Automation — winners of the Automation (International) category at the KITE/SACEEC Innovation Awards
“Being at KITE is a great way for us to reinforce our presence in the KZN market. It allows us to engage with both our existing, and potential new customers, and furthermore provides an opportunity to reconnect with the KZN market in our key market sectors, namely mining, metals and minerals (MMM); water and wastewater (WWW); consumer packaged goods (CPG), the automotive industry, and their service providers. Our sponsorship of the Premier Guest/Media lounge allows us to engage with visitors in a more relaxed manner. We had several meaningful discussions; these allow us to acquire different perspectives and thereby better understand the challenges our current and potential customers experience and to then align Schneider Electric solutions and services to support them.”
Vikash Rampathi Schneider Electric
“We have exhibited at KITE four times and it’s always great to discuss our product journey with our current and future customers, to help make them more effective in their jobs. Technology changes so fast, and being at KITE helps us to keep our customers up to date on our latest offerings. We met several new industry players this year, allowing us to expand our market. Both our Solidworks (design) and Mastercam (processing) software were very popular with the visitors, and there was also great interest in our training offering.”
Luke SmithMecad Systems
“We had many great conversations with the visitors at KITE 2023. In addition, we really enjoyed the interactions with other exhibitors, and we spent a lot of time doing market intelligence sharing. We noticed an increased investment into the stand designs by the exhibitors which is great to see. The mix of visitors was refreshing with some decision makers and some influencers. All in all, a super show.”
Devon Dippenaar Interroll
“We do other forms of marketing, but we find that KITE allows us to reach a huge number of people in our target market. Interestingly, people who came looking for other products ended up chatting to us about providing them with storage solutions. We decided to have a dynamic display, which really drew the attention of the visitors. It took months of planning and days to execute at KITE (we did a test run on site in our workshop), but all the hard work was worth it. The awards are recognition of what goes on behind the scenes in creating productivity-enhanced solutions.”
Fred Albrecht Logistics Systems Engineering — winners of the Storage (International) category at the KITE/SACEEC Innovation Awards
“KITE is the show to be at in KZN. We had a nice spread of visitors on our stand, across all industries, and from new customers to long-standing customers. The show was very busy, and we used the opportunity to highlight not only our robotics, vision tech, and safety solutions but also our legacy PLCs and components.”
Cezanne Gonsior OMRON
“KITE gives us a great opportunity to showcase our entire range of products to the various KZN industries, from workshops and maritime with our lubrication products, to all market sectors for our fire suppression solutions. This is a super way to generate new leads and reconnect with existing and previous customers, allowing us to introduce new technology as we launch it.”
Duane Botha Advanced Group of Companies
“There was a pleasingly large crowd at KITE 2023, and we were able to promote our flexible range of static/mobile storage systems.”
Vishnu Govender Acrow Storage Solutions
“The visibility our brand gets at KITE is fantastic. The visitors showed great interest in our injection moulding machines, machining centres, and premium market laser technology. One of our strengths is being able to offer solutions for entry-level, medium-cost, and high-end budgets.”
