The KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition (KITE) once again attracted a captive audience of over 4,200 industry decision makers between 24 and 26 July, with the 140+ exhibitors expressing their delight at the high-quality level of qualified leads they received.

“What a fantastic turnout. It’s my first time exhibiting at KITE and it has exceeded all my expectations. I’m over the moon,” said Ernie Koopmans of Integration-Services. Similarly, Shaun Botha of G. Fox, was highly satisfied: “What a fantastic show. I can honestly say that the number of decision makers here is unprecedented.”

The show also received accolades from the visitors, who cited the great variety of superior products and services on display at KITE. Gansen Chetty from Edison Power KZN said: “We’ve had great exposure to products we normally wouldn’t see. The opportunity to network with new suppliers and potential business partners is a big plus. This has been a 100% worthwhile experience.”

Knowledge building and education were key ingredients of the show. As a credit to the subject matter and the quality of both the content and the speakers, the free-to-attend SAIMechE seminar sessions were packed to capacity on a daily basis, with standing room only available. The Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa (LEEASA) conference, held on 24 July, attracted over 60 delegates all eager to hear about the latest trends and technologies in the lifting industry. Feedback from the LEEASA Management Committee was extremely positive. The Artisan Training Institute (ATI) and the dedicated Artisan Training Zone, provided visitors with the opportunity to see artisans demonstrate the trade skills they have learned at ATI.

“We are thrilled at the response from both the exhibitors and visitors to KITE and we are grateful to the support received from our sponsors, the various representative industry bodies and our partners. We are now in the planning stages for KITE 2021, which will mark 40 years since the show was launched,” said Nick Sarnadas, portfolio director at Specialised Exhibitions a division of Montgomery Group.

KITE 2021 will be taking place at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 July 2021.
